I am a Balanced Body trained Pilates instructor in Mat, Reformer, and apparatus. It is my belief that strong, functional movement is the key to living a long, healthy and active life. I truly believe that movement heals. While I have always been active, whether it be as an avid skier, an aerobics and step instructor in NYC, or as the mother of young children, my Pilates journey started only 7 years ago. I had debilitating lower back pain partially due to my natural structure and partially due to degenerative disk disease. I tried EVERYTHING from Spine specialists to chiropractors to physical therapists and after burning my nerves to try to get relief, I was told that I would just have to live with the pain. At that point, my mentor said to me: " Tisha, give me 6 months of Pilates 2-3 times per week - I think I can help you." Within 3 months, I was pain free and back to doing activities I loved like skiing, hiking and various cardio workouts. Now, I was hooked on Pilates and wanted to become an instructor myself to help others be as strong and active as they could be.
